Leigh Mikell writes and performs acoustic music around Durango and Dolores, Colorado — the kind of songs that sound just as at home on a cider-house patio as they do around a fire circle at dusk. Her sets move between original material and the songs that shaped her, played with the warmth of someone who'd rather share the stage than stand alone on it.

That instinct shows up off-stage, too. Leigh hosts two of the region's longest-running open mics and leads a monthly songwriting circle in the arboretum at EsoTerra Ciderworks — helping other writers find the next line when they're stuck, and making room for first-timers right alongside seasoned regulars.
